[ARCHIVED] Absentee Voting for the Spring Election

Absentee Voting for the Spring Election on April 7, 2020

Wednesday, March 18, was the first day for in-person absentee voting at City Hall.  However, in order to keep our staff and community members safe, we are STRONGLY encouraging everyone to request an absentee ballot be mailed to them.

Voters are able to request an absentee ballot online (www.myvote.wi.gov) or by mail, email, or fax. More information on these options is available on the City’s website.  You do NOT need to be sick or unable to come to the polling location on Election Day in order to request an absentee ballot.

The absentee ballot application will ask if you are “indefinitely confined.” If you check this box, you are certifying you are indefinitely confined in your home or other facility due to age, physical illness or infirmity, or are disabled for an indefinite period. This designation has nothing to do with the coronavirus (COVID-19) and current safety measures taking place. If a voter checks this box, then they will be placed on a list to have absentee ballots sent to them permanently.  Voters do NOT need to check this box in order to receive an absentee ballot.

If you have any questions about the election, please call City Clerk Leanne Schroeder at (608) 868-6900 ext. 2.

***Please note, only voter registration and absentee voting will be completed at the front counter at City Hall. All other City business must be completed using other avenues. For example, if someone comes in to pay a water bill, they will be directed to place their payment in the drop box outside of City Hall.***
