The City of Milton has a variety of vacancies on committees, commissions, and boards that need to be filled. Those interested in serving are required to complete and return to City Hall, 710 S. Janesville Street, a Committee/Board/Commission Questionnaire. The questionnaire is available at City Hall and on the City’s website.
Immediate openings include the Historic Preservation Commission (1 vacancy), Tourism Development Committee (1 vacancy), Zoning Board of Appeals (1 vacancy), and Board of Review (2 vacancies).
The Historic Preservation Commission meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. The vacancy is open to anyone living within the School District of Milton.
The Tourism Development Committee typically meets the fourth Thursday of the month at 8:30 a.m. The vacancy is open to anyone living within the Greater Milton Area.
The Zoning Board of Appeals meets on an as needed basis. The vacancy is available to anyone living within the City of Milton.
In 2016, the Common Council approved an ordinance changing the membership of the Board of Review from exclusively Council members to all citizen members. The Board of Review is responsible for hearing property assessment objections from property owners. The Board of Review will generally meet once per year, but that may fluctuate depending on whether there are property assessment objections.
