For the first year, the City of Milton has been designated as a Tree City USA community. The City of Milton received the award at the Parks & Recreation Commission meeting on April 17, 2017.
This designation is a significant achievement and demonstrates the City’s commitment to effective urban forest management. To receive this award, a city must annually meet criteria established by the Arbor Day Foundation, including having a tree board and ordinances related to tree care. The Tree City USA program is sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service and the National Association of State Foresters.
The City of Milton officially designated April 29, 2017 as Arbor Day. In observance of Arbor Day, the Parks & Recreation Commission will plant four trees at the Tails n Trails Dog Park.
