Mayor Frazier and the City of Milton Common Council are pleased to announce the winners of their “Mayor and Council member for a day” contest. Students were asked to write an essay to the Mayor, stating what they liked most about the City of Milton and what they would do to improve the City of Milton. The City of Milton’s management team reviewed all 26 student essays that were submitted, and evaluated them on the creativity, level of detail and analysis in what makes Milton great, innovation and ideas to make Milton better, as well as their originality and creativity in their correspondence. While all students who submitted did a great job, the following winners were recommended and approved by Mayor Frazier as the 2014 contest winners, who will serve as Council members and the Mayor for a Day:

Mayor for a Day (1)The seven contest winners will be afforded an interactive, “hands on experience” of working in City government on Tuesday, August 5th, 2014, highlighted by their attendance and participation in the Council meeting that evening. Mayor Frazier and the members of the City of Milton Common Council wish to thank all those students who submitted an essay, and we look forward to engaging these seven students in learning more about how City government works and provides services throughout our community.
