The City of Milton proudly announces to the community the following three highly qualified candidates that have been named as finalists for the City’s vacant Finance Director/Treasurer position. Sixteen (16) applicants applied for the position, and a series of interviews narrowed the field to the following three finalists listed below:
- Maria T. Forrest: Maria is currently serving as Treasurer for the Village of Poplar Grove in Illinois. Maria has previous municipal government finance experience as the Assistant Finance Director of the Rockford Park District. Maria has a Master’s Degree in Accounting from Northern Illinois University.
- Daniel Nelson: Dan is currently serving as the Accountant/Treasurer in the City of Middleton, WI. Dan has previous experience in both the public and private sector; previously serving as an auditor with Baker/Tilley and as the City of Milton’s Accounting/Finance Manager from 2009-2011, prior to accepting a position with the City of Middleton. Dan has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire, and is currently serving as the City’s Interim Treasurer.
- Laura A. Pisarcik: Laura has previous municipal management experience from several communities in the State of Illinois. She served as Finance Director for the City of DeKalb, Illinois from 2011 through March of 2014. Laura has also served as Finance Director for the Village of Pingree Grove in Illinois, and possesses a Master’s Degree in Accounting from Northeastern Illinois University.
The finalists for the position are scheduled for interviews with Mayor Frazier and the City of Milton Common Council on Tuesday, June 3rd, 2014. Depending upon the results of those interviews, a conditional offer of employment may be made to the Council’s selected candidate later that week.
