The street rehabilitation and utility work on N. Clear Lake Avenue will require the road to be closed to traffic starting on Wednesday, June 7. The closure will accommodate school bus traffic through June 8 (the last day of school), refuse and recycling collection, and local residential traffic. The road will be closed to through traffic until sometime in late August or September. The Rock County 911 Communications Center has been notified of the closure. The official detour route for State Highway 59 traffic is County Highway N east to Milton Road, which connects with Business Hwy 26/Janesville Street in the City of Milton, and then south to connect again with State Highway 59.
Community members likely noticed other work taking place late last week and this week, including construction staking, potholing utilities in the terrace, and installing erosion control. The contractor has been able to accommodate through traffic during this prep work.
Work on Madison Avenue from Clear Lake Avenue to First Lane is still planned to start on or after July 5 and community members can expect the same conditions for road closures and accommodations.
