Snow is officially in the forecast on Thursday, November 11, which means Public Works will be holding to the stated deadline of November 14 for community members to rake leaves into the street for collection.
The final clean up process will take a few weeks to complete. First they will take the leaf vac truck through the whole City to collect the leaves, and then use the street sweeper to do a final cleaning of the streets. Because the street sweeper uses water, they risk the equipment freezing if they wait too long to do this work.
Reminder: Please be sure to only rake leaves into the curb area for collection. Yard waste, grass clippings, walnuts, etc. should be taken to the yard waste collection bins at the Public Works Facility, 150 Northside Drive. Those are available for use until December 1. Leaves can also be placed in these bins.
If you have any questions, please contact the Public Works Department at (608) 868-6915.
