Press Release from Rock County Public Health Department
Rock County, WI – Rock County Public Health Department is reminding the public that the mask order in Rock County is still in effect. The Wisconsin Supreme Court decision regarding the statewide mask order does not change the Rock County mask order.
COVID-19 cases in Rock County have been increasing recently and there is at least one new variant in our community. It is important to keep following all prevention guidance to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and save lives.
While many organizations have been working hard to get people vaccinated, we still have many unvaccinated people to reach. We ask that everyone in Rock County continue to wear a mask, keep your distance, wash your hands, avoid crowds and minimize indoor time with non-household members.
Those who are fully vaccinated can safely be around other fully vaccinated people without a mask. Fully vaccinated means it has been 2 weeks or more since your only dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine or your 2nd dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines.
The current mask order is in effect until May 5, 2021. You can read the current order here: https://www.co.rock.wi.us/images/web_documents/departments/health/Rock_County_Mask_Order.21.02.04.pdf
