Animal Licenses
All City of Milton residents owning a dog or cat that is 5 months of age or older must have their pet licensed.  The license year is January 1 through December 31.

Fees
  • Spayed or Neutered Cat or Dog:  $8.00
  • Unspayed or Unneutered Cat or Dog:  $15.00

Late Fee:  $10.00  - A late fee will apply on April 1 of the current license year.  (The late fee does not apply to new licenses.)

 
Apply In Person
You can apply in person at City Hall during any of our open hours.  Please be prepared to provide the following information about your pet:
  • Name
  • Age
  • Breed
  • Color
  • Spayed or Neutered?
  • Owner's name, address and phone number

In addition to the information you provide, you will also have to provide the following documents:
  • Proof of current rabies vaccination, if not on file with us already
  • Proof of spaying or neutering, if applicable

Apply By Mail
To apply by mail, you should: 
  • Provide the following information about your pet:
    • Name
    • Age
    • Breed
    • Color
    • Spayed or Neutered?
    • Owner's name, address and phone number
  • Provide proof of current rabies vaccination.
  • Provide proof of spaying or neutering, if applicable.
  • Enclose a check (made payable to the City of Milton) for the appropriate fee as listed above.
  • Enclose a self-addressed stamped business size envelope for the return of your documents and your new licese.
